This one might be more of a surprise, but Wilkinson came into the season as the backup right tackle. Despite filling in well for high paid free agent Juwan James, he was going to move back down to being a swing tackle, until James opted out of the 2020 NFL season.

Now he is dealing with a foot injury and while he isn’t missing practices, reports are that he isn’t handling the pass rush very well and that he is still a week or two away from being 100%.

In the meantime, the Broncos paid Damar Dotson to come over. Now, it looks like they are going to have to look at Dotson as more than back up as the two fight it out for the starting job.

It is great that the team has options, but with pass protection already being an issue in camp, a new offense, and a passing game that will try to attack deep more often, you really want to make sure that your bookends are locked in with just two weeks of “preseason” left.
