Titans fans should be watching Vic Beasley and Marcus Mariota closely

Titans eyes are on Marcus Mariota (again) and Vic Beasley.

It is funny that these two are wrapped up in the same storyline right now because it is hard for me to imagine two players who became Titans with more opposite reactions than Vic Beasley and Marcus Mariota.

Mariota came in as the savior of the franchise and had it not been for injuries, bad play calling, and constant turnovers, there is a good chance that he could have been that.

Beasley came in as an afterthought in free agency once the Titans had figured out how to keep Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry.  Despite his status as a mid-tier player who was seemingly lucky to get a nice sized “prove it” deal from the Titans, he followed that bland reception up by…hiding from camp?

I say hiding because there really isn’t a word for it. It isn’t a hold out because there have been no communications between his agent and the team, but he isn’t opting out either because we just saw the deadline pass with no announcement.

But…he still isn’t in camp…

Again, compare that to Marcus Mariota who was benched last year and still managed to find ways to stay engaged and help support the Titans even though he knew he wasn’t going to be in the team’s long term plans.

So, if Beasley isn’t around and Mariota signed with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, then why do these players matter right now?
