Titans ideal trade targets from the Philadelphia Eagles
Alshon Jeffery, WR
Jeffery is currently on the PUP list recovering from a foot injury he suffered in a game against the Giants in December.
Going by the general recovery timetable, Jeffery should be ready by Week 1 or 2 of the regular season. Even with the news of fellow Eagle receiver Marquise Goodwin opting out, I still wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles jumped at the chance to shed Jeffery’s contract.
The Titans are thin at receiver behind stud AJ Brown and the (generally) reliable Adam Humphries. Factor in the inevitability of Corey Davis testing free agency and the addition of a veteran like Jeffery makes sense. AJ Brown and Alshon Jeffery on the outside, with Adam Humphries in the slot should do a lot to help take some load of Derrick Henry.
When you also factor in that the Jeffery trade rumors have been swirling for months, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Titans entered the sweepstakes. It shouldn’t take any more than a 3rd or 4th round pick to win over the Eagles, especially when you consider what the Texans received for their star receiver, Deandre Hopkins.
So while Jeffery has been inconsistent during his Eagles’ tenure, he has a proven track record of being an above-average receiver and should be well worth a mid-round draft pick.
