NFL Power Rankings: Steelers rise and Texans fall flat in July

6. Green Bay Packers (finished 5)
What I said at the end of last season:
"Are the Packers great and really streaky or are they just a team that can’t figure out what they want to do or be. Based on what we have seen the past two weeks, that offense should run through Aaron Jones and Aaron Rodgers should be the counter punch to that. However, I keep getting the feeling that when the chips are down Rodgers is going to be the guy who makes the call at the L.O.S. and it will be Matt LaFleur with his hands in his pockets hoping that the play works out. They barely squeaked past a bad Detroit Lions team on their 3rd string QB today, despite having a lot to play for, and playing bad football at this time of year is never inspiring."
Looking back:
The Green Bay Packers are now a team defined by some of the best EDGE rushers in football and an unhappy quarterback who feels like he is done with the franchise. I think the team had a terrible draft class headlined by a quarterback who will be lucky to finish his stint with the Packers with a .500, but it is so hard to bet against Aaron Rodgers until he actually decides to pack it in.
With a potentially explosive defense and a great quarterback, I am going to hope for the best based off of what they could be and what they showed last year. However, this is one of the teams that could be really volatile in these power rankings.
