NFL Power Rankings: Steelers rise and Texans fall flat in July

8. Buffalo Bills (finished 9)
What I said at the end of last season:
"Remember what I said about the Pittsburgh Steelers? Well, the Bills are basically the Steelers but with fewer superstars and better quarterback play. The run game is sort of death by a thousand cuts, with Devin Singletary and Frank Gore carrying the water for the running game and keeping the defense focused so that Josh Allen can pull the ball every now and then and run it himself. Through the air, it is basically Cole Beasley or John Brown and nothing else which has been effective enough for the Bills considering their defense has been so good. The defense is incredibly well-coached and it seems like if you can get 20 points on them then you will be in a pretty good position to win. As easy as that sounds, it has only happened a few times all year thanks in large part to a front seven that shows up when they need to and Tre White doing an incredible job at cornerback."
Looking back:
I don’t really have much to say about the Bills because they still are what they are.
Adding Stefon Diggs helps, but honestly, this is a team that is going to have to grind games out again in 2020 and try to win by a score of 17-14 most weeks. Defense is hard to count on year to hear so I am hesitant to put them any higher on these power rankings even though I think they have one of the most interesting defenses in the NFL, but with Josh Allen at QB…
