NFL Power Rankings: Steelers rise and Texans fall flat in July
By Will Lomas
11. Minnesota Vikings (finished 7)
What I said at the end of last season:
"I give the Vikings a lot of credit because that pass rush is just so terrifying and they do have talented cornerbacks all over the field who seem poised to make a big play the moment I count them out. Offensively, Kirk Cousins is polarizing but as long as he stays away from Monday Night Football he should be alright and luckily all of the playoff games are played on the weekend. Seriously though, I think Adam Rudolph, Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook should be enough to make any DC’s heart race."
People are down on the Minnesota Vikings and I don’t really know why.
I think this offensive line will be much better this season with Garrett Bradbury taking a step forward and Ezra Cleveland being drafted into an offense where he fits so well. Meanwhile, you can plug Justin Jefferson into the Stefon Diggs role (from a volume standpoint) and he will thrive.
Defensively they are loaded with players I love, Danielle Hunter, Kenny Willekes, Hercules Mata’afa, James Lynch, Jeff Gladney, Harrison Smith, Anthony Harris, Anthony Barr, and Eric Kendricks.
Take all that talent and put it in the hands of a defensive mind like Mike Zimmer and I can’t wait to see what happens.
