There is no way the Titans can look at the depth chart at running back and think that they are good to go.

Sure, Darrynton Evans might be a really good pick and I like him as a prospect, but you are talking about asking a running back from the Sun Belt to come in and being one injury away from asking him to help this offense run.

That is why I think trading for a cheap running back is in the Titans best interest, and the Patriots are an ideal candidate for that.

Damien Harris is a perfect candidate to back up Derrick Henry because…well he has done it before. In his only season without 100+ rushes for the Crimson Tide, Harris was the backup to Henry at Alabama.

After a 4 year career in the SEC where he ended up as a team captain and was lauded for his effort on offense and as a special teamer, he was drafted by the Patriots in the third round and was rewarded with…4 rushes.

That is right, as a rookie Harris got fewer rushing attempts than the Patriots rookie WR who missed half the season with injuries.

Combine that lack of use with a logjam at running back, and I would imagine that New England won’t even know he is gone, while the Titans would add useful depth and a player who can also play on 3rd downs and on special teams.
