Which Jets should the Titans trade for?

The New York Jets are tied up in controversy right now, and with the team’s outlook on the 2020 NFL season already grim, maybe it is time for them to call the Tennessee Titans and try to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Right now, the Jets are in the middle of a rebuild and they have timed everything poorly. Sure, you have a guy you believe is a franchise QB in Sam Darnold, but you paired him with Adam Gase which is one of the worst decisions a franchise could make.

Well, you also have Le’Veon Bell that you gave a massive contract too. That would be a good thing except that you put him behind backup caliber offensive linemen for two straight years, with the exception of Mekhi Becton.

After mismanaging that situation as well as trading away Leonard Williams before you could get any value out of his pairing with Quinnen Williams, and failing to really upgrade on any position group in the last 6 months, this has to be the time to look in the mirror and realize what you need to do.

We just saw the Miami Dolphins do something similar in 2019, so why not take a note from your division rivals and try to add as many resources to the draft as you can.

Worst case scenario you are in line for a new QB from a much better crop, and best-case scenario Sam Darnold proves good enough to build around and you now have young pieces to build around as the cap declines.

Let’s look at which players make the most sense for the Titans to target.
