Bryan Cox

Breer says:

"Bryan Cox: The ex-Dolphins linebacker last worked in the league for the Falcons in 2016, and took some time off from coaching, but could absolutely bring some energy and fire to a team after that break."

Another coach, another connection to Mike Vrabel as the two were on the Patriots roster together in 2001. And in reality, you could make the argument that Cox had the more successful career in the NFL between the two because he was a 3-time Pro Bowl linebacker before he met Vrabel.

I have to imagine there is a respect level there and Cox would probably be qualified to coach anywhere in the front seven, though he has only been a DL coach (and one year as a “pass rush” coach) at this point in his career.

I don’t know if there is a perfect background for someone to coach players like Jadeveon Clowney and Rashaan Evans, but Cox is a coach with the experience of playing linebacker and the knowledge to coach DL, which seems like an ideal coach to bring in just to help those two reach their potential.
