My Vote

So the safe bet is Isaiah Mack, but we can’t discredit Larrell Murchison and what could do for this team.

If I had to bet, I would put my money on Mack because I think he was one of the team’s better defensive linemen in the preseason and he took that energy to the defense when he was given a chance.

I’m not sure why he wasn’t active for much of last year, but would it be surprising if he had four or five sacks this season? Not for me because Mack will have so much more opportunity in 2020 and he will have a unique set of skills that Murchison doesn’t possess.

One big caveat for me is that if Jadeveon Clowney does end up signing with the Titans, I think that one of his biggest roles will be to play nickel DT on pass rush downs. That will make it difficult to get reps for Mack.

In fact, that may mean that Murchinson beats him out for the most snaps at the end of the year given how good Murchison can be vs the run.

This isn’t a flashy topic, but it is interesting to think about and it will make the difference in one of the games this season so the Titans better get it right.
