Looming cap

That deal will cost the Eagles $7.8 million this year and if he is healthy enough to play next year, it is going to cost them more than $65 million over the next four seasons which is an average of over $16 million per season.

Let’s just focus on what that means for 2021.

In 2021, the Eagles are going to be $50 million over the cap based over current projections.

That means that the team will likely have to strip most of their roster and they are going to be pinching pennies anywhere they can. So not only do they need to figure out a solution at right guard that is going to help them win now before they might have to destroy that team in 2021, but they ideally need to find someone that can do it for cheap.

Titans fans may not like it at first, but I think they have the solution to the Eagles problem and his name is Nate Davis.

Davis will cost the Eagles less than $1 million per year and in this trade, they are getting a developing talent who just finished blocking for the NFL’s leading rusher. Not to mention the fact that he was battle-tested in the playoffs.

This isn’t me trying to get the Titans to get rid of Davis, it is just maximizing an asset.

Let’s take a look at what Nate Davis is and why else the Eagles should covet him.
