Darrynton Evans:

Everything we wanted Dion Lewis to be, plus a little more

Darrynton Evans is an awesome football player, and one day, he can build a name for himself that extends past the shadow of Derrick Henry. But for the 2020 season, he’ll be stuck with pass-catching, RB2 duties.

Evans is well equipped to shoulder those relief duties, however. He was a bell-cow type running back at Appalachian State who carried a heavy workload but put up big enough numbers to justify his high volume. He’ll see some time carrying the ball in his rookie year, but most of what Evans will be tasked with in 2020 is being the player that Dion Lewis never was with the Titans.

The Appalachian State rookie didn’t get a ton of receiving opportunities, but he made the most of them whenever he got the chance, ending his senior season with five receiving touchdowns on only 21 catches. Tennessee has been in need of a pass-catcher out of the backfield since Henry became the full-time starter, and they might have found a rookie able to be just that in the upcoming season.
