2020 Outlook

Many people seem to think that Ryan Tannehill can’t continue to produce the way he did in 2019. When was the last time a quarterback had an amazing year, the offense improved, and people insisted that the QB would regress tremendously the next season? For some reason, people seem to think that Tannehill was a one year wonder. They think that he will return to putting up average numbers like he did in Miami.

Even PFF, who has been very high on Tannehill lately, seems to be doubting his ability to be top 10 next season. They don’t even project him in the top 10.

The Titans would be fine if Tannehill returned to that level of play. They have a good enough defense and run game to live off of average quarterback play, but I think that Ryan Tannehill is an elite quarterback and will continue to be for the rest of his time in the NFL.

Ryan Tannehill seems to be the perfect quarterback for the Tennessee Titans offensive style. He is an athletic quarterback who can take advantage of the play-action bootlegs the Titans like to run and he has a good enough arm to make defenses pay when they stack the box to stop the run. In Miami, Tannehill never had an offense that fit him as well as the one he is leading now.

I expect Ryan Tannehill to surpass most people’s expectations in 2020 and finish as a top 5 quarterback. I would say that mid-30s is about where Tannehill will finish in terms of touchdowns and he will have well above 4,000 yards. To me, there is no doubt that Ryan Tannehill will be ELITE in 2020 and will continue to prove all the doubters wrong.
