Redrafting the 2013 NFL Draft for the Tennessee Titans
Round 3
In round 3, the Titans had the 70th and the 97th overall pick.
Original picks – Blidi Wreh-Wilson DB Connecticut and Zaviar Gooden LB Missouri
Blidi Wreh-Wilson is still a depth piece in the NFL to this date. Nothing special of a player but there is something to be said about a player that can make it 7 years in the league. Meanwhile, Zaviar Gooden hasn’t played since 2016 and never provided the Titans with much value. There’s no doubt the Tennessee Titans could have went elsewhere with both of these selections.
Who they should have picked – Logan Ryan DB Rutgers and David Bakhtiari T Colorado
Logan Ryan has been a great piece in the Titans secondary for the past few seasons. Imagine what he could have accomplished as a Tennessee Titans his whole career being selected 70th overall rather than 83rd to the New England Patriots. Cornerback wasn’t exactly a glaring need for the Titans at this time but looking back on it Logan Ryan is a value that you just couldn’t have passed on in the 3rd round.
David Bakhtiari has been a great piece on the Green Bay Packers offensive line for some time now. He has played tackle all his career but coming into the league at 6’4 310 lbs, he could have potentially moved inside to guard for a few seasons until the Titans moved on from Roos or Stewart. Regardless, Bakhtiari is a two time Pro Bowler and it wouldn’t have hurt to add some great depth to the offensive line back in 2013.
