Conclusion

There is no reason why the Titans shouldn’t be the favorites to win the AFC South in 2020.

One of the circumstances in the Titans’ favor is continuity. The team will return almost every major piece of the team that went to the AFC Championship Game last year.

The other three teams in the division underwent more change and will look vastly different in 2020. Assuming it takes Philip Rivers some time to mesh in a new system and assuming the Texans take a step back this year, I expect Tennessee to get an early lead on the division.

The Jaguars look poised to be a non-factor in the divisional race, but divisional games are always tough regardless.

All signs are pointing to this being the Titans’ division to lose. Another 9-7 season and a wildcard playoff berth simply won’t cut it this year. Tennessee needs to win the AFC South, and it seems likely, at least on paper.
