Honorable Mention: Week 17 vs. Houston Texans

Entertainment Factor: 3/10

Drama: 2/10

Season Importance: 10/10

This game couldn’t quite cut it as a top-five game of 2019, but it deserves a bit of recognition here before we get into the list for a couple of big reasons.

The biggest one being, this 35-14 win over the Houston Texans was the one that pushed the Titans officially into the AFC’s sixth and final playoff spot. A win that set in motion an insane playoff run that approximately nobody saw coming.

The second less important but still of note reason for this game being as important as it is– it’s the game that gave Derrick Henry the title of NFL rushing leader. With a 32 carry, 211-yard performance on the ground, Henry was able to push past the 1,500-yard mark on the ground, giving him enough mileage to beat out Cleveland Browns’ running back Nick Chubb for most rushing yards on the season.

So many massive accomplishments in just one game, so, why doesn’t it find it’s way onto the actual list? Well, honestly, this game was kind of boring. And not in the fun, blowout way where the other team can’t even keep up, but in the way that the other team wasn’t even really trying to keep up to begin with. Having already secured a playoff spot, the Texans sent in their backups to finish the season in Week 17.

It would have been fun to beat Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins for the AFC’s Wild Card spot, but we had to settle for AJ McCarron and Keke Coutee instead.
