Houston Texans

Bill O’Brien has been oh so great to us Titans fans as the new GM of the Houston Texans. One of the most questionable moves of the offseason was the Texans trading star wide receiver, De’Andre Hopkins, to the Arizona Cardinals for David Johnson. The most puzzling part about the trade is the fact that the Texans are sending the Cardinals a fourth round pick and are absorbing all of David Johnson’s contract.

Hopkins has been the main reason that the Houston Texans have been able to dangle the AFC South over the Titans heads for so many years. Now, with Hopkins out of the division, the Titans will look to finally put the Texans in the rearview mirror.

Martin Fenn of Bleacher Report grades the Texans offseason with an F.

"Houston inexplicably traded one of the best receivers in football (Hopkins) because he wanted a raise, which he likely deserved, in exchange for a running back (Johnson) who was incredibly underwhelming in 2019 and also has an injury history and a big contract. Then, because they lost Hopkins, the Texans traded a second-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams to acquire another injury-riddled player in Brandin Cooks."

It seems to be a pretty universal though that the Houston Texans will be a much worse team next season, and will most definitely not take the AFC South. I took to Texans twitter to see how fans were feeling about the upcoming season.

It seems as if Texans fans are still hopeful for the 2020 season. De’Andre Hopkins was a game-changer for the Houston Texans. I believe that without him the Texans offense will struggle to move the ball. This will be another AFC South sweep for the Titans next season.
