How well do the Titans match up against Jaguars, Texans, and Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars

SWEEP

I feel for Jaguars fans. In fact, we all should. They are now in the dreaded place that we as Titans fans were in during the Zach Mettenberger and Jake Locker days. BetOnline sets the Jacksonville Jaguars odds to win the AFC South at +2000.

The Jaguars have put their 2020 hopes into the hands of 6th round pick Gardner Minshew. Minshew did manage to beat the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football last season in what was arguably one of Tennessee’s worst games last season. Essentially, Minshew has to play his absolute best and have the Titans play their worst to beat them.

All signs point to the fact that Jacksonville wants a shot at a franchise QB like Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields in the 2021 NFL Draft. If that is the case, they are definitely on the right track to do so.

Yannick Ngakoue has been very vocal about wanting to leave the Jaguars this offseason. It even sparked a very interesting public spout between Ngakoue and Jaguar’s owner Tony Khan. While Khan seemingly won the Twitter debate, the way the offseason unfolded between Ngakoue and the Jaguars has not been good for either side.

One ray of sunshine during the Jaguars horrifying offseason has been the NFL Draft. They added some very talented pieces including C.J. Henderson, K’Lavon Chaisson, and Laviska Shenault. These players, although young, will add an immediate boost to the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be the source of hope for the team going forward.

Drafting a cornerback in C.J. Henderson who has been actively criticized for not tackling opposing running backs was probably not the best move to prepare for the Titans, though. In my crystal ball, I see two games of Derrick Henry giving the rookie corner the Earl Thomas treatment.

The Jaguars are in the middle of a rebuild right now and really pose no threat to the Titans in the AFC South. I believe the Tennessee Titans sweep the Jaguars with ease in 2020.
