Markus Golden, EDGE

Golden is not a household name, but he’s been playing like he should be one.

After coming over to the Giants, Golden exploded in 2019 with 72 tackles and 10 sacks. This wasn’t his first great season, either.

In 2016, while playing for the Cardinals, Golden showed out with 51 tackles and 12.5 sacks. He’s a streaky pass-rusher, but the Titans already have Harold Landry and Vic Beasley, so unlike with the Giants, Golden wouldn’t have to carry the pass rush.

It was evident by watching the 2019 AFC Championship Game that the Titans sorely need to upgrade their pass rush. It would probably be foolish to expect Golden to get double-digit sacks every year, but him rotating in along with Beasley could do wonders for this defense.

Golden is still a Free Agent, however the Giants did tender him, meaning he has to sign with someone else before July 22nd, or he returns to the G-Men.

Golden has garnered much less talk than Clowney, as such he might be a better bargain. If the Titans strikeout in the Clowney sweepstakes, Golden would be a great consolation prize.
