John Ross, WR

Any time you can double down on wide receivers from the 2017 NFL Draft, you have to right?

I laugh to keep from crying, but I honestly think there might be something to work with here and John Ross is the ultimate “buy-low” player.

The Bengals just declined the 5th-year option for Ross, and now it is safe to say that he is not in their future plans. Sure, like Corey Davis this could just be a prove-it year for a player that was too expensive to keep at the price of his option, but it feels like a lot more than that.

John Ross hasn’t been what the Bengals hoped, but there is no denying that he could be one of the best deep threats in the game if healthy. In Tennessee, he would be asked to replace/compete with Kalif Raymond for the Titans deep threat role that doesn’t ask him to be on the field too often or be too critical in the offense.

The Bengals have a group of WRs four-deep in A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and Auden Tate with solid depth pieces behind that. If Ross is going to have to compete just to be active, why not move on from him?
