Kansas City Chiefs

Who else but the defending Super Bowl champions? The Chiefs track team offense proved to be too much for the Titans defense during the 35-24 loss in last years AFC championship game. The Chiefs have retained all of their top weapons in the passing game from last season.

In addition to that Kansas City used their first pick to grab LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Helaire was a dominant back in college using his versatility to shred opposing defenses. He will be a good addition in the backfield with Damien Williams as a back that can both run the ball and catch it efficiently.

Any team with a player of Patrick Mahomes caliber is going to be a threat for anyone. The Super Bowl MVP is already predicted by many to be a Hall-of-Famer. The two-time Pro Bowler had a 105.3 passer rating through 14 games last season. There is no doubt he has been the best quarterback in football and will pose a problem for the Titans until the day he retires.

The Chiefs took the advice “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” this offseason. The Super Bowl champs kept their roster as similar as they possibly could going into next season. While that only leaves little room for improvement, it also keeps the key pieces intact that made the best team in football last season.

Their explosive offense will be hard to stop once again next season. A major reason they were able to beat the Titans last season was the lack of pressure on Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes had way too much time in the pocket and Kansas City’s receivers are way too talented for a secondary to cover for that long. The key to success for the Titans in a TEN vs KC matchup will be maintaining a consistent pass rush throughout the game.
