7. Jonnu Smith

Maybe no one on the Titans roster took a bigger step forward than Jonnu Smith. The former FIU tight end took the starting job after Delanie Walker was banged up again and from that point on no one in that tight end room could give the offense what he did.

Whether lining up as a running back (alright that was only once or twice) or lining inline, Smith proved that he could do more than just act as an oversized slot receiver. That is probably a big part of the reason that Mike Vrabel always speaks of Smith in such glowing terms.

With free agency right around the corner, Smith has two years of being an “ok” TE2 behind a season where he was one of the best receiving tight ends in the NFL.

Teams seem to react most to what happened most recently so whether the narrative ends up being that he was a one year wonder or that he is the heir apparent to Delanie Walker, the fact is that we have seen good and bad from Smith and right now the good is far outweighing the bad.
