The Tennessee Titans need wide receivers, but who should they call?

While I am all in favor of making trades to bolster a roster, sometimes there are much cheaper options available which is what I want to dive into today with the Tennessee Titans.

I really like the idea of making a trade with a team like the Philadelphia Eagles to take advantage of some of the overcrowded wide receiver rooms around the NFL. However there is still plenty of meat on the bone in free agency and the Titans can find some good fits there.

Whether looking for speed receivers or sure-handed targets, there are enough options on the open market that I don’t think a trade makes sense yet unless the Titans really feel like they are getting a great fit for what they need.

To put some context on how bare the WR room is for the Titans, I tweeted this earlier:

Sure, it certainly helps that the Tennessee Titans have a true #1 wide receiver now in A.J. Brown which makes the top-3 look like they can compete with most other trios in the NFL. After that, you only have Kalif Raymond with game experience and then nothing else.

So right now a team that hopes to take that next step and go to the Super Bowl this year, is only four deep at wide receiver (with a solid question mark on what WR4 can do) and that is a problem.

With other holes now filled, let’s look at some free agent wide receivers the Titans could sign.
