Tennessee Titans draft strategy

The Tennessee Titans went into the draft with (what I believed to be) 5 needs. In order from biggest to smallest, these are those needs and how they got addressed:

CB: Kristian Fulton (2nd round), Chris Jackson (7th round)

RB2: Darrynton Evans (3rd round)

DT/EDGE hybrid: Larrell Murchison (5th round)

WR4:

OT: Isaiah Wilson (1st round)

QB2: Cole McDonald (7th round)

Of those needs, the only position where one of these needs feels a little forced is Larrell Murchison.

Now I want to be clear, that isn’t because I think that Murchison is a bad player. In fact, I actually really like Murchison and what he can give the Titans as a hustle guy who wins after the first move.

The reason this is a forced fit on my need board is because I think he is more of a Jurrell Casey type and Casey always did his best work inside vs iOL with penetration. What the Titans need is someone who can square up with offensive tackles and beat them with power to set the EDGE.

Despite that need, they never addressed it in the draft and didn’t really try to address it in UDFA despite there being some options in both places.

To me, that is a clear hint that they think they can get Jadeveon Clowney. Otherwise, why would you even entertain a player like Clowney for this long only to pass up on guys that can do the same thing in the draft?
