Round 3 Pick 93: RB Darrynton Evans

One of the more underrated picks of the weekend, the Titans nabbed Evans, a speedster from App State.

Perhaps not as well known as the other RB prospects, Evans dominated the competition while at App State, finishing with 1100 or more yards in 2018 and 2019. Evans also contributed 39 catches for 319 yards receiving in his college career on top of that.

Evans also had the second-best 40 time at the NFL Combine this year, so the Titans are getting a speedster. The Titans offense in 2019 greatly lacked a dynamic speedster, and Evans has the potential to be just that.

Anybody who knows me knows I was NOT a fan of Dion Lewis. The fact that Lewis couldn’t block or catch passes, or break long runs really hurt the Titans. Evans has the making to be a cheaper, younger, and better version of Lewis.

Evans won’t start, but he should see the field plenty. He can also contribute in the return game, something the Titans haven’t had in years.

Grade: B+
