Round 2, Pick 61

Tee Higgins WR, Clemson

The Titans have holes at EDGE and CB left to fill but the Titans swing here for the best available player. In the second round, the Titans select WR Tee Higgins from Clemson.

Higgins is a first-round talent and would have gone in the top 20 picks in most drafts. However, in a wide receiver loaded draft, Higgins falls to the Titans who are picking at the bottom of the second round.

Higgins is a homegrown talent who grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The junior was crucial in the Tigers’ success over the past three seasons after racking up 28 total receiving touchdowns and posted a 2448 receiving yards in his collegiate career.

Higgins has amazing body control with his ability to adjust to the ball downfield. The only knock on him is the lack of real competition he faced in the ACC. With the Titans, Higgins would be deployed as a second or third option, allowing him to adapt to the NFL game.

His route running and downfield ability blend perfectly with the play-action game with Tannehill liking to take shots down the field. While the Titans have Corey Davis and Adam Humphries on the roster, for now, it gives them a chance to move out of those two pricy contracts.
