Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals hold the first overall pick in the 2020 Draft, which means they also hold the first pick in the second round as well.

One reason to love a potential trade down with the Bengals is that you could get a premium pick that falls literally just outside the first round.

The Bengals are widely expected to make Joe Burrow the top selection next week, and it’s been reported they hope to also add weapons for their new QB. So the Bengals want a receiver to pair with Burrow, and the Titans might be in the ideal spot.

The two teams picking directly after the Titans are also receiver-needy teams: the Packers and 49ers.

If the Bengals really love a specific receiver, they could be worried one of those two teams could get their guy at the end of the first round. Switching spots with the Titans puts the Bengals ahead of the two receiver-needy teams and could enable them to land, say Denzel Mims or Justin Jefferson.

In this scenario, Tennessee ends up with the first pick in the second and third round as well as an additional fifth round pick. That sets them up for a bidding war between Day 1 and Day 2 of the NFL Draft and also lets them stick and pick if they love a prospect.

Bengals Receive:

29th Pick (1st)

224th Pick (7th)

Titans Receive:

33rd Pick (2nd)

65th Pick (3rd)

147th (5th)
