Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants could trade for Jamal Adams and shift NFL Draft

However, for a lot of teams outside of Tennessee, he would be an improvement to their current group and in a class with no good safeties, there could be a real market for him.rnrnSo, what sort of impact could this have on the Titans?rnrn[nextslide teaser="What%20is%20the%20price%20for%20Adams%3F" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_81414" align="alignnone" width="1600"] (Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images)[/caption]rnrn What is the price for Adams? rnrnIf I had to guess, I would assume that trading for Jamal Adams will require a team to trade a pick in the 20-40 range of the 2020 NFL Draft.rnrnWhen you think about it, you are giving up a pick in that range that you hope becomes a player of his caliber and although you don't get to control the entire career of Adams, you do take out all of the guesswork.rnrnAt 25 years old and with two years left on his rookie contract, Adams gives a team a player who can thrive near the line of scrimmage and make a living off of attacking offenses instead of staying back and playing in coverage.rnrnWhile this is great, you need someone covering to help support this playmaker. I am not saying this to limit his potential options, but instead, I want everyone to know why his value isn't a consensus 1st rounder and why people may be shocked if the Jets have to give back a mid or late-round pick in a deal for Jamal Adams.rnrn[nextslide teaser="Who%20wants%20Adams%3F" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_81413" align="alignnone" width="3200"] (Photo by Mark Brown/Getty Images)[/caption]rnrn Who wants Adams? rnrnAccording to PFN's 2020 NFL Mock Draft simulator, these are the teams with a need at safety in order of greatest need to least need:rnrn Tier 1 rnrn-Philadelphia Eaglesrnrn-Arizona Cardinalsrnrn Tier 2 rnrn-Dallas Cowboysrnrn-Minnesota Vikingsrnrn-Seattle Seahawksrnrn-New York Giantsrnrn-Pittsburgh Steelersrnrn-Miami Dolphinsrnrn Tier 3 rnrn-Houston Texansrnrn-Las Vegas RaidersrnrnMaybe the worst thing for the Jets in all of this is that they can't take advantage of the Miami Dolphins and their bounty of draft picks. Obviously they are division rivals and the Jets won't let Miami get even better with this bad decision.rnrnAlso, I would assume that there is no way that the Pittsburgh Steelers trade for a safety after the move for Minkah Fitzpatrick . Defense is import to them, but they have other positions they need to address and no first round pick.rnrnSpeaking of no first round picks, the Houston Texans will also probably take themselves out of this race. Part of that is because they don't have a first, but the other part is because I think Bill O'Brien is too busy trying to trade J.J. Watt for a conditional 7th round pick to make any calls for other players.rnrnThe Arizona Cardinals don't have a 2nd round pick and the Raiders don't have a 2nd round pick and with their two 1st round picks are in the top-19 which just feels too rich.rnrnDallas has the 17th and 51st pick which feel too rich and too far away, so without making a complicated trade I don't see this happening.rnrnSo what offers make the most sense for the Jets?rnrn[nextslide teaser="What%20offers%20could%20the%20Jets%20get%3F" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_81412" align="alignnone" width="3200"] (Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images) *** Local Capture *** Joe Douglas[/caption]rnrn What offers could the Jets get? rnrnAlright, after filtering out the names of the teams that don't have the ammo for Jamal Adams, and the Dolphins because of their connection to the Jets here is the list of the teams remaining. Beside each team I posted the most likely trade that they could make that fits the picks they have.rnrn Tier 1 rnrn-Philadelphia Eagles: 21st overall pickrnrn Tier 2 rnrn-Minnesota Vikings: 22nd or 25th overall pickrnrn-Seattle Seahawks: 27th overall pickrnrn-New York Giants: 36th overall pickrnrnThose four teams all make the most sense given what range their pick is in.rnrnThe Eagles make a lot of sense given the investments they have made on the DL. Heading into the offseason with one of the worst secondaries and coming out of the draft by adding Darius Slay and Jamal Adams would be one heck of an improvement.rnrnMinnesota has two first round picks so in theory, that makes them the most likely to take this chance. However, I do wonder if the Vikings would consider it given Harrison Smith 's role on the team and how that may keep him from doing some of the things he thrives doing.rnrnSeattle feels like they trade first round picks more frequently than any other team in the NFL and for good reason. The Seahawks are terrible at making 1st round selections and when they go against the grain (which is always) they usually miss badly. This feels like it has legs if they wanted to add star power to that defense.rnrnThe New York Giants are a fun narrative. Kid from the south comes up and dominates for one team in New York, only to be traded to the other team from the Empire State (I know the Buffalo Bills are also there, but....come on). He and Jabrill Peppers seem like a fun tandem to try to make work.rnrnBut now for the really important question, which one of these helps the Titans the most because there is a right answer.rnrn[nextslide teaser="Which%20trade%20would%20help%20the%20Titans%20the%20most%3F" /]rnrn rnrn[caption id="attachment_81411" align="alignnone" width="3200"] (Photo by Alika Jenner/Getty Images)[/caption]rnrn Which trade would help the Titans the most? rnrnTo me, this is a no-brainer. The trade Titans fans should want to see the most is the New York Jets trading with the Philadelphia Eagles.rnrnThe Jets landing the 21st pick means that they will likely take one of the top-4 WRs in this class or an offensive tackle. After the top-4 OTs in this draft, I am not thrilled about the TItans options so seeing the Jets spend a pick on a tackle at 21 would mean that a CB, WR or EDGE that could have potentially gone there is off the board.rnrnThis all comes back to getting more teams in front of the Titans who could reach on an offensive tackle. The Seattle Seahawks need to continue to try to find ways to protect Russell Wilson and the Minnesota Vikings need a bully at offensive tackle to continue to run their offense the way they want.rnrnIf two of those three teams (Seahawks, Vikings or Jets at 21) take offensive tackles, then I think the Titans will get a legitimate first round talent at a position of need that falls to them. Otherwise, I just am not sure that the value would be worth it and I think we end up seeing the Titans trade down to collect more picks.rnrnIn either scenario, as long as the Titans don't reach for a player (especially the 7th best OT) at 29, they can't go wrong if they follow their board. However, a trade for Jamal Adams makes it much easier to imagine that someone like Yetur Gross-Matos or Jeff Gladney makes it to Tennessee at 29.
