The Tennessee Titans would like to grab some instant starters in the 2020 NFL Draft, but the fit is as important as the talent.

It is incredibly difficult to be a great draft analyst because you have to know what each team needs, and that doesn’t just mean positions that need more bodies before the season starts.

For example, the Tennessee Titans need a running back, but they don’t need a starter because that role has been filled by Derrick Henry already. Likewise, they don’t need someone who can only run the ball and who has to take a back seat on passing downs.

You see, it is a very easy mistake to see Derrick Henry’s size and assume that he is good in pass protection. However, no coaching staff has trusted him to be on the field on passing downs in his career because he just doesn’t really thrive there and why would you put him in a position to fail when you could be resting him?

So, if you see someone mock Cam Akers to the Titans consistently, then that is a red flag that they may not quite have a handle on the fit that Tennessee needs in this draft.

That is why I have some bones with the great Lance Zierlein and Char Reuter to pick about the Green Bay Packers landing the “Ideal two draft picks”  that the Tennessee Titans should have gotten despite the Packers selecting one pick later than the Titans.
