Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, 4 others could make Titans trade offers
By Will Lomas
New York Jets
Scenario: The Jets catch a falling star
The draft is always hard to predict, but the 2020 NFL Draft is completely unique. With the current pandemic going on it is hard to guess who will go where beyond the top two or three picks.
While everyone has the New York Jets going offensive tackle at 11, but there is a good chance that two or three of the offensive tackles are already gone by that pick.
With Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb and C.J. Henderson all as potential value picks at 11, should the Jets really push a need here?
Instead, why not just take the BPA and trade up for a tackle at the end of the first round. You probably get the 6th best offensive tackle and a high-end talent at 11 instead of forcing your 4th best offensive tackle off the board.
Is it worth it? Only if you want your QB to be successful before he is completely ruined.
What trade makes sense:
Tennessee Titans get: 2nd (48), 3rd (68), 5th (158)
New York Jets get: 1st (29) and 7th (243)
The Titans get extra picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well as a 5th round pick in exchange for moving down 19 picks.
This is a trade that doesn’t exactly light your world on fire when you see it, but when you look at the value you could get back it feels like a pretty good deal for everyone.
Quick 2020 NFL Mock Draft:
48. A.J. Terrell CB, Clemson
61. Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB, LSU
68. Bradlee Anae EDGE, Utah
93. Lynn Bowden WR, Kentucky
158. Justin Strnad LB, Wake Forest
174. Joe Reed WR/KR, Virginia
Who does the trade favor according to the updated pick values: Perfect trade (204-204)
