Scenario: Reuniting Joe Burrow with LSU teammates Patrick Queen or Justin Jefferson
The Cincinnati Bengals need help at off-ball linebacker and it wouldn’t hurt to add another great weapon for Joe Burrow to throw to in the slot and potentially outside. So, why not trade into the first round and jump ahead of teams like the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs who are just as likely to draft one or both of these players?
What trade makes sense:
Cincinnati Bengals get: 1st round (29) and 5th round (174)
Tennessee Titans get: 2nd (33) and 4th round (107)
This is the ultimate trade of control.
For the Cincinnati Bengals, you are gaining a 5th year of control over another 1st round pick without losing a single draft pick. That would be huge with Justin Jefferson or Patrick Queen who is going to be all in on whichever team Joe Burrow is quarterbacking after that dominant LSU season.
In exchange, the Tennessee Titans get to control Day 2 and Day 3 by leading off both the 2nd and 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
