Mock draft WITHOUT the trade

Full disclosure, this draft fell perfectly for the Titans so it is going to make a very strong argument for the extra picks but this is the ideal argument for not trading.

29. Jeff Gladney CB, TCU

-Versatile, athletic cornerback that would give the Titans the most flexibility in the secondary this year and going forward. Gladney is probably a sneaky value at this pick too because he is likely the last DB who will earn a top-40 grade and be able to cover inside and outside.

61. Michael Pittman WR, USC

-I didn’t know this until Dane Brugler pointed it out, but Pittman isn’t just a very talented receiver but he ended his USC career with three blocked punts and 17 special teams tackles. If the Titans keep their top three WRs together again for this year before (likely) letting Corey Davis walk after this season, then this would be a great way to get value out of Pittman beyond just rotating into the lineup.

93. Justin Madubuike DL, Texas A&M

Jurrell Casey is gone and the Tennessee Titans have three of their top-four DTs on the roster already in Jeffery Simmons, DaQuan Jones and Isaiah Mack. However, that other spot is open and for a team that likes to rotate as much as the Titans, this would make that second line much stronger.

174. Anfernee Jennings EDGE, Alabama

-A good value in the 5th round, Jennings was very productive at Alabama even though he didn’t have great bend or burst.  Does all the little things right and has a good football IQ, which is evident when you see him playing the run on the backside, sniffing out screens or getting his hands up to knock passes down.

224. DeeJay Dallas RB, Miami

-Balanced running back who gives good depth behind Derrick Henry.

237. Rodrigo Blankenship K, Georgia

-A…he…I don’t know, I guess he is a good kicker? (I have made this pick in maybe every mock draft that I have done so I assume you have read my notes on him).

243. Raymond Calais RB/KR, Louisiana

-The best running back still on the board with any kick return experience. Special teams are key to making the team for most Day 3 guys so I picked someone at a need position with a fighting chance.
