Hindsight is a beautiful thing, so let’s solve some of the Titans past and present roster problems by using it to redo recent draft misses.

The sun is shining through our quarantined windows, the birds are singing songs of beauty, and for all the ongoing madness that is the real world taking place– the football world seems largely unaffected and is even feeling like a universally optimistic paradise.

All that beauty and hope can only mean one thing, draft season is upon us. Glory be, one of the most optimistic and exciting times for all the NFL franchises with quality draft capital has arrived.

Some teams will view this time as a chance to rebuild on their crumbling or already-collapsed franchises, some hope to find enough diamonds in the rough to break the barrier into the playoffs, and others will be using this time to be looking for a couple of quality starters at positions of need in the hopes of chasing down a Super Bowl.

As strange as it still feels to type out and publish, the Tennessee Titans are one of those teams looking to chase down a Super Bowl. Tennessee has built up my hope countless times over the past few years only to knock it down like a Jenga tower on its last legs.

But this optimism feels different, it doesn’t feel blind. For this first time in what feels like forever, I can take off my fan goggles and STILL wholeheartedly tell you that the Titans are just two or three pieces away from being a powerhouse team. How cool is that?

But it’s important to remember in times like these that the Tennessee Titans have had chances in previous drafts to make these team-needs a nonfactor if they had a crystal ball to give them the confidence to avoid the groupthink.

For as close as the team is to reaching their ultimate destination now, a few draft changes here and there would have the roster competing for championships regularly, rather than pinning our hopes on Day Two starters.

Given, Jon Robinson has been pretty close to batting 1.000 since he’s taken over as general manager. But some changes to a few of his draft reaches, and some of the reaches before his time in Tennessee would have the Titans looking like one of the NFL’s best teams.

So let’s play pretend and make those changes.
