The Tennessee Titans take their defense from good to elite in this all-defensive players 7-round Mock Draft.

The Tennessee Titans defense is one of the biggest anomalies in the NFL today.

Just on a quick glance at the roster alone, it’s hard not to be impressed at the roster-building job the Titans have done on the defensive side of the ball in just a few short years.

At just about every position group you can find burgeoning young stars and established, older playmakers that have put together some truly impressive showings (the Divisional Round smackdown against the Ravens comes to mind).

Yet despite their wealth of talent, and how they oftentimes look on tape, Tennessee’s defense doesn’t appear quite as intimidating on the stat sheet. They’re not struggling, to be sure, but rank towards the middle of the pack in points and yards allowed, leading to some of their deficiencies to come to the forefront.

Because for all the talent the Tennessee defense has, there are still a few position groups that could use an influx of new star-potential players. With most of the big-time free agents already signed to new teams, with the exception of the on-going #ClowneyWatch2020, most of the areas the Titans need to address on defense will have to take place during the NFL Draft, or not at all.

With more draft capital than pressing defensive concerns, the Titans could take care of all their issues on that side of the ball if they focused their top draft assets into the NFL Draft’s best defensive talent.

Not only that, but Tennessee could stockpile depth AND talent to the point of building one of the NFL’s best defenses– both on tape and on the stat sheet. There are too many areas of need for the Titans on offense for them to ignore that side of the ball, but if they were to put together a “defense-only” draft, it might look something like this…
