Titans would you rather: Jadeveon Clowney or Logan Ryan and Derek Wolfe

Option B: Logan Ryan and Derek Wolfe

I think we all know what Logan Ryan brings to the table, but if not I will quickly summarize. His experience with this secondary makes it so easy to just fold him back into the mix with little to no issue. An above average slot cornerback who can stop the run, rush the QB and be sticky in coverage as long as he isn’t matched up with speedy WRs.

Derek Wolfe hasn’t historically been a great pass rusher, but he is coming off of a career year with 7 sacks as well as 8 TFLs which would be the second best total of his career.

At 29 you don’t see a lot of guys getting better, but with half the snaps Wolfe managed to go on an absolute tear. So, maybe a reduced role is helping Wolfe maintain his explosion at this point in his career.

With the Titans, he could give them something similar to what they are would ask from Jadeveon Clowney, although the major concerns are the age (just turned 30) and the usage. On that last part, the good news is that if the Titans wanted to just use him on 1st and 2nd down and then rotate in a pass rusher on 3rd down they could do that because they already did the hard part in adding a pass rusher (Vic Beasley).
