3 biggest needs on the Tennessee Titans roster after free agency
Cornerback
This all needs to be prefaced with the fact that on paper the Titans look very thing ar cornerback, but Logan Ryan hasn’t been signed anywhere else yet.
I believe as long as he isn’t asking for an exorbitant amount of money , he should be brought back. However, even if the Titans find a way to bring Ryan back into the fold, cornerback is still a need.
Malcolm Butler is coming off of a broken wrist, and he just turned 30, so who knows what to expect from him in 2020.
Leshaun Sims signed with the Bengals, and although I doubt the Titans will miss him much, he’s still depth that will need to be replaced.
Adoree Jackson has been the best Titans corner, but he will need a new contract next year, which is why I do not expect the Titans to make a major free agency or trade move here.
My best-case scenario for Tennessee would be to re-sign Logan Ryan for 2 years, and draft another corner in the 2nd or 3rd round of the 2020 draft with an eye on replacing either Ryan or Butler in the near future.
Re-signing Adoree long-term should be a top priority and if a deal doesn’t get done for a player like Jadeveon Clowney this offseason, keep an eye out for Jon Robinson to potentially use that cap space to get an extension done here that undercuts the cornerback market in 2021.
If Logan Ryan signs elsewhere, cornerback becomes an even more pressing need for the Titans in 2020. Expect at least one corner to be drafted by the Titans this year.
