Las Vegas Raiders

Mike Mayock is in his second year and he had a pretty great 2019 NFL Draft class, especially if you ignore all the talented players that he ignored when he took Clelin Ferrell in the top-5.

Instead, focus on his hits like Maxx Crosby and Josh Jacobs who look like they could be studs for the Raiders for a long time.

With two picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, why wouldn’t you punt on the highest pick in favor of picking up more picks in 2021? The Raiders could still land a youngQB like Jalen Hurts with that second pick (who they apparently love) and Mayock could rely on taking BPA and not focusing on need which is where he thrived last year (again, see drafting Crosby on Day 3 vs Ferrell in round 1).

Part of the reason that Mayock and Jon Gruden were hired was to give this team clout and stability during their move from Oakland to Las Vegas. I don’t think either one of them is even remotely close to being fired at this point.

With that level of security, punt back and keep giving yourself bites of that apple in an attempt to nail a pick and add 3+ more years to you contract.
