Round 2: Marlon Davidson DL/EDGE, Auburn

Marlon Davidson has so many great qualities and after how everything shook out at the combine, I don’t know how you can draft A.J. Epenesa over him and feel 100% sure that you made the right decision.

For the Titans, Davidson is such a great fit because despite his size (6’3, 303 lb.) he played stand up EDGE for Auburn frequently. This was possible because he is quick off the ball and offensive tackles have to respect his speed and bend because if they don’t he will squeeze around them and get his hands on the QB.

The problem for those OTs is that when they start respecting his speed enough to stay in front of him, he still has the power of a 303 lb. man and he can plant his foot and cut inside through the B-gap (and sometimes the OT) straight to the QB.

Think of Davidson as the ideal solution to the Titans need for a base EDGE, but he has the added bonus of being able to immediately kick inside to DT if the Titans want to put in Vic Beasley or another designated pass rusher.
