What are the Broncos thinking?

The Denver Broncos have one of the best EDGE tandem in the NFL with Bradley Chubb and Von Miller, now all they need is some more interior pressure.

If there is going to be a chance for Casey to get back to being a good pass rusher, the Broncos believe that being bookended by elite EDGEs is the ideal situation.

Before this move the Broncos had nearly $40 million in cap space, so they can afford to get a little risky with how they choose to spend their money. After all, it does really help to have a cheap quarterback on the roster to help mitigate a lot of the expenses that NFL teams normally have.

Building the trenches is important and we have seen an emphasis on that from the Broncos this offseason. This is just another move in an offseason plan built to help the Broncos compete with the Kansas City Chiefs in the near future.

Is this going to help them in three years? Who knows, but it is probably going to do them more good to find out what they have in Casey instead of holding on to a 7th round pick.

Leadership on a young DL is also going to be important and maybe the Broncos believe that he can be the culture changer than someone like Logan Ryan was for the Titans a few years ago.
