What does a successful Titans free agency look like?

Avoid The WR Market
For as ineffective as the Titans passing offense has been since, well, decades, things are turning around for Tennessee’s aerial attack in a big way.
Not that the Titans are going to be putting on their best Mike Leach impression and busting out the air raid any time soon, but with Tannehill back and some real talent at receiver and tight end, Tennessee has the ability to be an effective passing game.
They’re just one piece away from being great. But that piece should be found through the draft, not free agency.
Not that free agency’s top-shelf wide receivers aren’t impressive. At 25 years old, Amari Cooper is already one of the best receivers in the NFL, and AJ Green has been great for a while now, but each of those players comes with their own red flags.
Green has dealt with the injury bug for what feels like his entire professional career at this point, while Cooper will be demanding crazy stupid money from whoever wants to add his talent to the roster. They should both be stay-aways, despite their potential. As for the rest of the receiver class in free agency… well, there isn’t much.
The receiver class in the draft, on the other hand, is a different story. Not only are the draft’s best wide receiver prospects like Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb some of the best college players at the position in years, but behind them comes some of the best depth at wide receiver a draft class has ever seen.
Rather than breaking the bank or rolling the dice on a receiver in free agency, the Titans can sit comfortably and wait until the mid-rounds of the draft and still find a talented pass-catcher to compliment AJ Brown and the other skilled receivers already on the roster.
