What does a successful Titans free agency look like?

Keep Derrick Henry a Titan

Pay the king. Check.

There really isn’t much more to say, but I’ll go ahead and state the obvious anyway.

Derrick Henry has been the motor behind the Titans offense for the last one and a half seasons. That half-season in 2018 where Henry emerged as a star didn’t amount to much in terms of team success, but Henry balled out through 2019 and brought the rest of the team with him this time.

Henry, the NFL’s rushing leader in 2019, now turns to free agency with an expired contract and the production to prove himself as one of the game’s elite players. Both Henry and Robinson have expressed interest on the star running back coming back to Tennessee to once again drive the offense– now all that’s left is to make a deal happen.

By releasing players like Ryan Succop, Dion Lewis and Delanie Walker (Miss you already, #82), the Titans have freed up enough salary cap space to make a handful of moves. Whether they choose to franchise tag him or work out a new contract, Henry needs to be one of those moves. I’ll say it again…

Pay the king.
