Make some re-signings

Free agency starts in days and by tomorrow we will have to count the time in hours. So, it is time to look at the players that the Titans could keep from hitting the market entirely.

Of course, Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry are big names that shouldn’t see the market so I am writing them here but they should be understood.

The one player on the edge of leaving or staying is Jack Conklin who should be in line for a franchise tag if those previously mentioned deals can get finished. Whether he plays under that tag or with the Tennessee Titans is another story, but that is still the move I would make. At worst, you get a pick for him.

I should start the underrated list of names with Daren Bates. While his special teams spot is sort of at risk with David Long Jr. drafted last year and with Chris Milton re-signed, he is a spark plug in that locker room and people love him.

Dennis Kelly is probably a must-sign if the Titans let Jack Conklin go, just because coaches always preach continuity and having your right guard and right tackle with a combined one year of experience in the NFL is a bad idea.

Kamalei Correa makes some sense to bring back as does MyCole Pruitt, Tajae Sharpe, Tye Smith, and LeShaun Sims.

All of those guys are good backups and can start for you in a pinch, although only Tajae Sharpe is a guy that I think would start on more than 50% of the rosters in the NFL. Everyone else should probably be looked at a backup that will help save you a draft pick down the road.
