Round 3, pick 93: Bradlee Anae EDGE, Utah

PFF’s historical data of finding a starter at EDGE in the 3rd round: 31.1% (vs 64.3% in the 1st, 42.6% in the 2nd, and 22.4 beyond that)

I just don’t see any way he is there at 93 for the Tennessee Titans and while I usually don’t like to take advantage of draft simulators, forcing myself to take an OT and a CB early in this mock draft gave me the push I needed.

Wide receiver is so deep that while the data suggests making a move for a receiver here, I just couldn’t pass up a great pass rusher like Anae. Also, since I didn’t project a big free agent signing to Titans this is a pick that could easily be opened up if the Titans sign Jadeveon Clowney.

Anae is one of the most productive EDGEs in this class and he doesn’t need any sort of refinement at the NFL level. With hand usage that distracts you from the rest of the play, and a knack for making sacks with effort, skill and athleticism it is easy to see why he and Jaylon Johnson paired up to lead one of the best defenses in college football.
