Day 2 — Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU

A day two selection of LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire teeters dangerously on the edge of the Titans being without Henry. For this scenario, however, I’m choosing to think of this pick as replacing Lewis.

Edwards-Helaire reminds me a lot of Baltimore Ravens running back Mark Ingram II. He’s devastating in the hole and sets up defenders to miss with relative ease. Listed at 5-foot-8, 209 pounds, Edwards-Helaire’s stature is similar to Ingram’s, and he can be just as hard to tackle.

Much like Henry and Ingram, hitting Edwards-Helaire high is a mistake. He’s a leg-churner and will make a defender pay if he fails to wrap up. The former tiger projects to fit well in a gap or zone blocking scheme, so once again, geaux Titans.

Edwards-Helaire is also a sufficient route-runner out of the backfield and shows soft hands on dump-downs and swing passes. His only con is in pass protection; however, that’s something the Titans can work on with him as he possesses excellent natural leverage due to his size.
