Day Three: Anthony Gordon (Washington State)

Anthony Gordon took over for Gardner Minshew last season as the full-time starting quarterback and posted dazzling numbers. Passing for almost 5,600 yards, Gordon tallied 48 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He trailed only the Heisman Trophy winner, Joe Burrow, for most passing yards in the nation, and the gap between himself and third place was nearly 1,300 yards.

Gordon finished 12th in the country in passing efficiency for Mike Leach‘s offense and had everyone involved in the Cougars air-raid attack. His favorite target last year was running back, Max Borghi, in terms of completions, so a similar issue as Fromm may present itself should Gordon be drafted by the Titans.

However, it’s encouraging that his two favorite wide receivers both had approximately 1,000-yard seasons.

He has good size at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, but many scouts question his abilities in a traditional NFL offense. Gordon always snapped the ball from the shotgun, which might fit the Green Bay Packers’ offensive style but not the Titans’ — at least not how Arthur Smith currently has the offense set up.

The Titans’ offense is going to run through Derrick Henry, so drafting Anthony Gordon may not make a lot of sense on Day Three. However, the upside cannot be ignored, but it’s a matter of whether he can snap the ball under center.
