Tight Ends

Nick Vannett

-Not a name you will see a lot, but Vannett and Vrabel spent three years together at Ohio State when Vrabel was the linebackers and defensive line coach. That is important because both of those positions directly involve competition against the tight end, meaning that he spent a lot of time working against Vannett in drills.

If the Titans want a replacement for MyCole Pruitt then this is a move that makes sense.

Austin Hooper

-Alright we talked about a good fit to replace Pruitt, but what if the Titans want to completely reset the position? Like Vrabel’s connection to Vannett, Hooper is connected to Keith Carter in a similar way.

The former Falcons assistant OL coach and RB coach would have worked with Hooper indirectly, but would have been near him very frequently.

This would be an expensive move and one that I don’t think the Titans would make given the rise of Jonnu Smith.

Tyler Eifert

-Eifert spent three years with new linebackers coach Jim Haslett in Cincinnati where his role shifted and his productivity decreased. If Eifert was active and engaged as a mentor and teammate, and old school coach like Haslett would have noticed during his tenure there.

With the Titans really needing no more than another guy at the position, Eifert would likely make a little bit more than some no name player because of his value as another coach in that room.
