Safety

Eric Berry

-This is sort of wild, but there are three things that make me think that Berry could be a fit with the Titans.

First of all, the Berry family is Tennessee through and through and like Peyton Manning, Alvin Kamara, Jason Witten, and other Vols throughout the last few decades, this fan base supports former Vols no matter where the go.

Getting Berry would be an easy sell to this fan base who has watched him throughout his career.

Second, the Titans need a fifth DB and Berry has played slot cornerback enough to potentially be a fit as the nickelback when the team shifts to their 5 DB package.

It has been a LONG time since we have seen a full season from Berry and I get that criticism, but how can you discount a guy who came back from Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had an All Pro season.

Finally, Berry has the most appealing trait that anyone can have and that is the fact that he actually played with Mike Vrabel in 2010. That was enough to get Kendrick Lewis a job, it darn sure should be enough to get Eric Berry a contract that the Titans can get out of if there is any performance or health issues.

Devin McCourty

-This isn’t a great fit given what the Titans need, but I included it because it would be funny symmetry.

Imagine a world where Devin takes the mirror image of Jason’s path and finishes his career in Tennessee and wins a ring despite many thinking his career is over.

Again, I don’t think it will happen but I just think it would be fun to see the former Jon Robinson draft pick come in and get some snaps where he and Kevin Byard are playing deep safety with Kenny Vaccaro playing some man coverage in the box or blitzing with his hair on fire.
