EDGE Yannick Ngakoue

Another one of the free agents that will certainly intrigue Tennessee is Jaguars star EDGE Yannick Ngakoue. The Titans are plenty familiar with Ngakoue’s skill set, as they have been on the wrong end of a lot of his production that has often wreaked havoc on the entire AFC South for years.

Being on the last year of his deal, Ngakoue hinted that he may be moving on from the Jaguars after posting a cryptic tweet stating that he was “free” following the conclusion of the 2019 season. There had been rumblings for a while that the former star out of the University of Maryland wasn’t happy in Jacksonville anymore and wanted out.

Nonetheless, Ngakoue remained loyal to his contract and finished out his obligations to the team despite severely outplaying his deal, something that is commendable considering all of the holdouts that happen around the league nowadays.

I expect the Titans to be one of many teams to join the bidding war for the 25-year-old pass-rusher, but to what extent is still to be determined.

Ngakoue accumulated 37.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, and 85 quarterback hits over his first four years in the NFL, production that this team undoubtedly wants and needs out of the EDGE position if they’re going to go toe to toe with the NFL’s elite in 2020 and beyond.
