Are the Tennessee Titans considering drafting Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft?

The Tennessee Titans will have a decision to make at quarterback this coming offseason, and it comes down to how they’re going to bring back free agent quarterback, Ryan Tannehill.

The Titans have a few options to do this, whether it be with a franchise or transition tag, or signing him to a long-term deal.

The problem with the long-term deal is that Tannehill only has 10 regular season games under his belt playing at a high level with the team, and that’s a small sample size to warrant what could be a contract in excess of $25 to $30 million per year.

Should the Titans opt to place a franchise tag on him that keeps him in Nashville for one “prove it” season, Tennessee might be wise to draft a quarterback just in case things don’t pan out beyond the 2020 season.

Well, according to Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller, the Titans are one of the teams he’s heard about that could be a potential landing spot for Utah State quarterback, Jordan Love.

"The word on Love is much like that on Herbert or Eason. The expectation is he’ll be the fourth or fifth quarterback selected, and that could be anywhere from the Top 10 to the second round. If enough teams see their free-agent quarterbacks leave or retire, Love will easily be a first-rounder.The landing spots I’ve heard the most in connection with Love are the Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans."

It remains to be seen if Love will be drafted in the early to mid first round, but as Miller states he could fall to the second round, in which case the Titans would have a crack at him at No. 29. It’s doubtful he’ll fall far enough for the Titans to pick him in the second round, though.

The two other teams Miller has heard about “in connection” with Love are the Chargers and Colts, teams that own the No. 6 and No. 13 pick in the first round, respectively. If either team is interested, Love could be gone long before the Titans pick.

Landing an EDGE will be a top priority for the Titans this offseason, however there may not be one worth drafting that late in the first round.

It is conceivable that Tennessee decides to go with a quarterback there instead if they like one enough considering their potentially unsure situation at the position moving forward.

Would Love be that guy if he’s available at No. 29? Only time will tell.
