Marcus Mariota: 5 possible landing spots for Titans QB
New England Patriots
Come on, you had to know this was coming.
I’m sure this scenario would be the hardest to swallow for Titans fans, but it really does seem very likely.
If you don’t already know, Tom Brady is headed for free agency. I expect him back in New England, but assuming he retires, what do the Patriots do?
Jarrett Stidham was a fourth-round pick of the Pats in 2019, but he looked absolutely dreadful in his one regular season appearance this year, throwing for only 14 yards and a pick before being removed. Not sure that is going to inspire much confidence from team brass.
Assuming Brady retires or moves on and Mariota signs with New England, undoubtedly Mariota would be the favorite to start. Even if Brady decides to stay, I still think this is a good spot for Marcus. Sit behind Brady for a year, then take the reins.
Not to mention it would provide him with the chance to play for one of the greatest coaches of all time in Bill Belichick. The allure of Belichick and the Patriots’ history of dominance should be enough to lure Mariota to Foxborough.
No matter where he ends up, Marcus Mariota is sure to attract many suitors.
